About Cox-King Multimedia

Cox-King Multimedia (CKMM) is a Finger Lakes, New York-based editorial and graphic design shop specializing in book publishing. CKMM editors and designers are dedicated to the idea that each book has individual needs. The typesetting and design of each book is sensitive to the spirit of the writing and the art and history of typography. Covers are colorful, direct, and engaging, and we do our best to tell an effective story with each design.

About Us . . .

Bookworm and typesetting guru Charles King has varied and extensive experience with books and literature. He graduated from Yale University in 1993 with a double-major in English Literature and Music History and Theory. Mr. King then attended Georgetown University, where he earned an M.A. in English Language and Literature, and where he was a visiting fellow at the Folger Shakespeare Library.

After graduate school, Mr. King joined Lightning Source Inc., the world's largest on-demand manufacturer and wholesale distributor of new and reprint books. From 1997 to 1999, he taught publishers how to use on-demand printing services to test-market books, complete niche publishing projects, and extend the in-print life of each title. Mr. King made the leap to the creative side of the industry in 1999, when he started his own editorial/design company. While an expert in on-demand printing, he has branched into other modes of production as well; an on-demand background engenders an efficient approach to any publishing workflow.

A baseball enthusiast and semi-professional musician, Mr. King lives in Geneva, New York with his wife, Erika (a professor at Hobart and William Smith Colleges), and three children.

About the edit and design team . . .

CKMM's editors and designers work under Mr. King's direct supervision, and he carefully matches projects with editors, artists, photographers and designers who have experience in fields that will aid them in presenting each book so that design and content function harmoniously.
